According to the report of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, IFC is considering investing in the Emerging Europe Growth Fund III, L.P., a private equity fund launched by Horizon Capital. (EEGF III, Delaware, USA). The amount of investments can reach up to $ 20 million. The final decision on this issue will be taken by the IFC Board of Directors on April 28.
The message also stipulates that IFC investments will not exceed 20% of the total fund size.
The main direction of EEGF III's work will be financing of small and medium-sized growing enterprises.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) can act as co-investor of the fund.
IFC is already an investor in another fund of Horizon Capital, EEGF II, and participation in the new fund will help Horizon complete its individual investments.
The EEGF III fund was launched by Horizon Capital for a period of up to 10 years. The volume of the new fund is $ 150 million. EEGF III is aimed at medium-sized fast-growing, export-oriented companies in Ukraine and Moldova with the potential to enter local or regional market leaders. Investments will be made through the purchase of a minority stake in such companies.
